Dalton Bjornson is a senior at Hayfield.
Q: What sports do you compete in?
A: I played football, and baseball until my junior year when I broke my leg and that’s when I decided to go out for golf.
Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?
A: We won our senior homecoming football game this year.
Q: What have you learned from sports?
A: You have to put in the hard work during the season and the off season to succeed. You learn self discipline and respect.
Q: What’s the hardest part about sports?
A: Learning to push yourself past your limits to help your team.
Q: How do you keep your focus when competing?
A: Just breathe.
Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?
A: I would say one would be Tiger Woods because he overcame and injury and a lot of criticism to come back and win the Masters again.
Q: What’s your dream job?
A: I plan to go to school for Business/Construction Management and hope to own my own business some day.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: BBQ Chicken Pizza.
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: Go to RCTC to complete my generals then transfer to Mankato State to get a degree in Business/Construction Management.
Q: How are you staying connected with teammates and friends?
A: We are lucky to have the technology we have, it makes it easy to stay connected. We use Snapchat and Instagram.
Q: How do you feel about missing portions of your senior year?
A: It’s sad that we are missing out on making a lot of memories. We were really looking forward to the possibility of going to state this year for golf as a team. Our goal was to hang that banner on the wall of the school. It’s disappointing that we won’t have that chance.
