HALSTAD, Minn. — A major road construction project in Halstad is expected to be completed by early November.
U.S. Highway 75, which runs through the center of town , has been torn up for several months, said Lucas Spaeth, Halstad city superintendent. The Highway 75 road construction is a Minnesota Department of Transportation project.
“They’re doing a complete reconstruction,” he said.
The major part of the project is done. Painting stripes and work on the highway’s shoulders still need to be completed.
Besides that project, the city of Halstad raised the road at both ends of the town for a levy project. The width of the road was raised 2 feet so it is even with the levy.
“The road raises are complete,” Spaeth said. “We’re waiting for some cure time for the concrete.”
Spaeth expects the road reconstruction projects to be finished in the next two weeks, he said.
