30 Aug Jon Cartu Says: Construction on Jacques-Cartier Bridge will cause serious t…
Transport authorities announced Thursday that in order to properly carry out paving work and electrical conduit excavations, there will be major upcoming closures to the lanes and access ramps of the Jacques-Cartier Bridge.
The South Shore will be completely inaccessible via the bridge from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9. Also during that time, two out of three lanes will be closed at the exit of the bridge on the Montreal side, in the direction of de Lorimier Ave. north. The exit ramp toward Highway 134 West will also be closed.
However, this work could be postponed due to unsuitable weather conditions.
To mitigate the inconvenience of these ramp and lane closures, transport authorities have implemented a detour in Longueuil via Taschereau and Curé-Poirier Blvds.
